The past couple days have been rather moderate in temperature. Around the 50F mark. It’s been breezy, but warm. Warm enough to go out in just a hoodie (plus other clothes). Why am I taking the time to write an entire blog entry about this? Well, let me tell you.
I am writing about the weather because OH GOD IT HAS BEEN SO COLD THIS WINTER AND I WANT SPRING. Ahem. Yes.
This winter I have seen more snow than I have EVER seen in my life. I’m sure some people, like Aisling, experience worse weather on a yearly basis. But, listen, I do not live in Calgary for a reason. Well, three reasons. I do not like the extreme cold, I do not like conservative politics and I am not a Canadian citizen. So. I think it is reasonable for me to be unhappy with the amount of snow and cold that came with this winter. It was not in the brochure for my living area.
It was certainly trying, this winter. But I survived! And the way I see it, this is just a warm-up for when I am living in Canada, married to Clem. ‘Cause it is cold there and stuff.
But until Canada time, I want the spring. NOW PLEASE. Spring has the best weather of the year and it will be so very, very welcome after this winter. Spring is so awesome that I am considering making a PowerPoint presentation, listing and explaining the reasons why spring is so awesome. Yup it is that awesome. And hopefully, if the weather (plus the fact that spring starts March 20th) is any indicator, spring will be here soon. And I will frolic and dance and drive with my windows down and my music playing at an obnoxious level.
So, yeah, vlogging. Good stuff. Here’s my first attempt at it. I’m kinda awkward and stuff. And this video ended up being longer than I thought it would. :P Sorry if I bore you with EIGHT MINUTES OMG of rambling on about nothing. But here it is.
I was getting genuinely annoyed with myself for waking up so unnecessarily late every day, and getting way too much sleep. So, the good news is that I have been waking up before noon, with about 8 hours of sleep for like the past week. The key, I’ve found, is to put my alarm clock across the room, so that I have to trudge out of bed and across the room in order to turn it off. I’m also considering investing in one of those fancy robot clocks. :P But I’m broke at the moment, so that will have to wait.
My OTHER problem, now, is that I started playing World of Warcraft again. I’m sure you or someone you know is or has been afflicted by this condition. My lack of productivity and lethargy, once caused by oversleeping and being a general slugabed, has been replaced by my desire to play World of Warcraft and level my rogue to 80. Gah! And…I’m actually not losing interest this time. It’s actually holding my attention! And it’s…dare I say it? Fun! Goodness me, what will I do? I’ll surely never get anything done now. :|
Oh well. At least I’m actually awake now. And doing something.
Boy, time sure flies when you forget to blog, doesn’t it? Yeah. Good times.
Anyhoozles, lately I’ve noticed that I have a SERIOUS problem with oversleeping. My circadian rhythm is probably more confused than a Christian fundamentalist in biology class (ba-dum-psh). The other day I actually slept for THIRTEEN hours. Yes, that is right, thirteen. It’s not that I can’t wake up via alarm. It’s that I wake up via alarm, look at the time, think “Hmm I can sleep a bit longer,” set the alarm to like half an hour later, go back to sleep, wake up via alarm again, *deep breath* reset the alarm again, wake up again and then say “I’m gonna get up now,” except I actually just go back to sleep without an alarm and wake up at like 1 or 2 in the afternoon. D: Holy run-on sentence!
Basically, I have no motivation to wake up. This is what winter/no school/no job does to me. Which is why I desperately need something that forces me to get up. Otherwise I am a lifeless, sleeping blob who sleeps foreveeeeerrerer. And nobody likes that.
I hate the winter. SO MUCH. As I speak, snow is piling up outside. Curse you Jack Frost! You’ll get yours!
